News Break

I’ve just had a mail through which was chock full of random news pieces from the Skateboarding world…

First up, the Fourstar video is now in post production and will include a full section from latest team member Andrew Brophy.

The DVS website has been updated with the new Summer 08 range and will be shipping to stores within the next month.

TWS have a US release date for their new video ‘The Now’, starring Kenny Hoyle, Sean Malto, Nick Trapasso, Matt Miller and Richie Jackson. It will premier on 13th June at the TWS yearly skate bash and will be shipping 2 weeks later to Europe.

Finally, The sudden death of pro skater Tim Brauch back in 1999 through heart problems rocked skateboarders everywhere, since then the Tim Brauch Foundation has set up to promote skating as a healthy sport and having regular skatecomps and jams to raise money for funding innercity skate parks and projects – a video is underway to commemorate the life of Tim and promote the charity, hopefully there will be plenty of old footage from the Santa Cruz pro, who ripped street and tranny until his untimely death, aged only 25.  click the link for the rough cut of the video so far:

But you knew that already, right?

News Break

Not only have they launched a spanking new website, but Lakai have also been kind enough to upload Fully Flared, too!

So for those of you who haven’t seen it (if you exist) or those who have loaned a mate their copy and haven’t had it back yet, check out the site.

They also have a new series of shoes out. The ‘Election’ series.

Mike Carrol’s pack is looking pretty cool.

News Break

nordberg.JPGBlueprint have just released a new podcast spending a day with recent recruit Ben Nordberg in his hometown of Bath.

“Blueprint recently went down to Bath and spent a rainy day in the presence of Ben Nordberg, where he gives us a tour of his local skatepark, skateshop, cafe and driving range! We had hoped to skate but an injury and wet weather to paid to that! Neil Smith was also along for the ride.”

Check it out.

Tonsilitis sucks.  Makes you just want to lay in bed and do nothing. But being the soldier I am, I’m at work and able to dump a few more videos and random skate info for your perusal.

Slap Magazine have put up some new Sacramento footage. Featuring Brandon Biebel, Brian Anderson and Omar Salazar. Apparently there’s more to come this week. I’ll put it up here as and when it becomes available.

Matt Rodriguez is back on Stereo, Bastien Salabanzi is now a father (congrats!), Arto Saari is no longer grinding on Fury trucks, Colt Cannon isn’t wearing Circas anymore, and Birmingham’s Ideal Skateshop is upping sticks and moving to the Custard Factory where they are currently building an in-house 40′ wide miniramp!!

Stoked.

News Break

It’s that time of the week again, back to work after possibly the best weekend weather wise this year, but you’ve got another TOTBG episode to watch.

We all could of done with another day but hopefully this will make up for that:

News Break

So, we’ve found that the weekends don’t really get a look in on Whispers. Sorry. Must try harder.

Someone who doesn’t seem to need to try at all is Torey Pudwill. Pick up the latest copy of Sidewalk Mag from your local skateshop (or your mates local, I’m not picky) and check out the free dvd. It’s DVS‘ Dudes Dudes Dudes. DVS will be uploading it to their website soon, but isn’t it just SO much better to pop the dvd into the dvd player and watch it in a decent format?

Talking of Sidewalk, I was thinking about writing in to get a new pair of shoes. I reckon a new pair of kicks for 50 words about skating is well worth it.

Fellow forumer Mikey and I went and took photos for Sk8UK’s guide on ‘how to wax a curb like a pro’ yesterday. Check out the Skateboarding Guides for this soon.

I’m off to re-ink my fountain pen.
