Well, summer really has hit us this week, huh! You’d better be out skating.

If you fancy getting a team together, Sk8UK are running a ‘Summer Challenge’ type-thing. Loosely based on Thrasher’s King of the Road. Could be fun, could fail, either way, sign up to the forums and get involved.

The Ripped Skatepark in Ravensthorpe got a feature on Crossfire courtesy of Phil Procter. Go check it out.

Crimson Skateboards, Inc. and Kris Markovich have decided to part ways under amicable terms. Sam Uisprapassorn, part owner of Crimson Skateboards stated that the parties agreed to go their separate ways after disagreements developed over the operations and direction of the company.

“I wish Kris and his team all the best in the future, but it was time for us to go our separate ways.” stated Uisprapassorn. Crimson Skateboards will continue to be distributed by Arthouse Skateboard Distribution, Inc.

If you read Whispers you’ll already know about this, but here’s the official release:

As from today, Arto Saari is no longer riding for Flip Skateboards, and has found a new home at Alien Workshop.

Everyone at Flip wishes Arto the best for his future with the Burton family, and are in total support of this move for him.

“Arto is like a brother to me. After years of being on the same team with the same goals it was time for him to move on. We remain the best of friends and will continue to skate together probably harder and probably more so than ever!!! I wish him all the best and as a brother, I shall always have his back”

News Break

I know, I know. I’m sorry. I’ve been a bit slack. Thanks to Sean for saving the day.

Anyways, on my nightly shimmy around the most popular skate forums on the net, I found some interesting bits of information/gossip.

Firstly, Arto Saari has left Flip Skateboards for Alien Workshop. So, apart from Penny and Rowley, does that make their entire team under 21? They’re coming to the UK to skate Stoke Plaza on the 1st July. We can ask them directly. Secondly, Kris Markovich’s Crimson Skateboards is no more. We will await with baited breath for the next Markovich company. Probably something related to red and blood.

Enough of the boring industry stuff. Just sit back and watch John Cardiel courtesy of Thrasher. Someone get this guy a monument or something. Dude is the best skater to ever step foot on a board. For real. Disagree? Go watch all 16 episodes of his Epicly Later’d, then come back and apologise.

Finally, I just spotted these covers. Sick.

It’s been suggested that most of the Whispers content is pulled straight from other forums, and I’d like to clear this up.

Yes it is.

Anyways, today’s featured video is stolen straight from Slap. More Alex Olson. Can anyone tell I’m a fan, yet?

Hey, I just noticed Stu Graham’s Creature Pro Deck is on sale in Slam! At a meaty 8.6inches, it’s not for the little boys (or girls… we’re not sexist here at Sk8UK).

Oops, did I just use Whispers to advertise? Ah well, Stu is worth it.

Also, to whoever turned off the rain for the southeast… Thanks. I’ll buy you a beer next time you’re in town, or, if you’re under 18, an orange juice with a little umbrella and a cherry.
