Park Spotlight: The House, Sheffield
The House Skatepark is situated in Neepsend, Sheffield. It is a skatepark only so no bmx’s are allowed – bladers however are. There is a helmet policy (due to insurance purposes) but skateboarders who are 14 or over and bladers over 16 have the choice not wear one.
Inside its 10,500 sq ft of space is a street course with a large flat bank and an 8ft high quarter pipe and a 5ft quarter pipe end piece, facing a big drive way with the rail and gaps attached to a 23ft long 1ft high grind box.
A 16ft mini ramp is linked back to back with an 8ft mini, which connects to a spine that is connected to a fly off facing two large roll-ins. There is a hip with a large wallride attached to the back. There is a low driveway with a long centre box, which follows the driveway at one end and round freestanding bar and a manual pad on either side. There is also a set of steps with ledges. Last but not least is a 6ft high roll- in, and a 12ft wide quarter pipe. The entire floor is wooden.
To one side of the main course is the mini House, this is an ideal area for beginners. It comprises of a two-foot high mini, two flat banks, a grind box and a small driveway.
The House also incorporates its own skate shop should you need any parts or advice. If you spend over £35 you will get 2 hours free in the park.
